I got some coupons from the Coast Guard Auxiliary that are good for 10% off safety equipment at West Marine. I thought this would be a good opportunity to replace my old fire extinguishers. I was wondering if you had suggestions on what to shop for.

  For fire extinguishers you need to be in line with USCG regs however, if you race and are thinking of doing Cat 2 ISAF races than you need to be above coastguard regs. You need to have at least 4.4lbs of fire extinguisher powder some of them say that on the side they are quite a lot bigger than the USCG ones. I would also get one with a metal top not plastic so that it can be serviced. So if you are shopping at West Marine that is two 316234 for Cat 2 regs.
